My review:

Booked one month in advance for service + MOT and was told of the total cost. They collect the car from work place and hours later had call saying MOT failed on wiper blades & bulbs (additional 70) and also the Service And MOT went up by 30. Not Happy and not going back to them again. Carefully check the job sheet, if you are signing.

My review:

Car was collected from my workplace for it's first service. I specifically specified it had to be returned by 4pm that day and was told that would be no problem. 4:15pm I rang Hartwells and was told it had just gone into workshop. They offered no apology nor explained why they hadn't rung me to say they were running late. They didn't do all jobs I asked for and the colour of the oil on the dipstick made me unsure if that got changed. My next 2 visit, included some jobs not done first time, but went OK, except I gained a screw in the tyre necessitating replacement. It was an automotive type of screw and was either gained in Hartwells or within 10yards of leaving the site. I had complained about the first service and so you can imagine I was somewhat suspicious about how I gained the screw. Finally they ordered a replacement windscreen for me (under warranty). I am still waiting about 2 months further on. I made repeated attempts to get through to the service desk and then when I did speak to somebody they couldn't tell me what was happening with it and would get back to me. Guess what - they haven't. Further attempts to contact have been unsuccessful.
On the positive side the staff on the service desk were always helpful when I dealt with them directly and I think a huge part of the problem at Hartwell is communication.
I hope that I can write another review in a years time reporting an improvement.
