Ford UK – What Car? Awards
The What Car? Car of the Year Awards which are being held on Wednesday, 11th January 2012 have broken with their normal tradition, and have announced a list of cars in the running for awards in various categories. The winners will be decided before the actual ceremony but won’t be advised, so that it will still be a surprise until the name is announced. Ford UK has seven vehicles listed across the categories, with two vehicles jostling for position in one category. Continue reading →
The vehicle that came second in the list of highest residual value after three years was the Ford Kuga 2.0 TDCI Titanium with it retaining 71.6% of its on-the-road price even though there are high levels of sales. It was only beaten by the Toyota Land-Cruiser 3.0D-4D Invincible automatic which at 72.2% residual price from new was only slightly better than the Ford Kuga, which sells many more units. Well, by this time next week we’ll have moved into December, with November seeming to have only been here for a very short visit. The Ford Fiesta does it again as sales of new cars rose in October 2011 with the Fiesta taking the top spot. This increase in new car sales is seen as a positive by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) according the Paul Everitt, President. However, he also suggested that 2012 could prove “challenging” for the market, but presently things seemed rosy. Continue reading →
